Donations are used to provide warm clothing and emergency funds for food to recipients designated by the Bergen County Tracers Program of the Division of Veteran Services in Hackensack.

The Association, a community car appreciation organization -- whose members include Post Commander Phil Langner -- raises money for various charities. It also holds a "cruise" event every Friday night at the field next to the Pearl River firehouse, where antique and custom cars are on display.

On any given night there are anywhere from 125 to 150 homeless veterans, male and female homeless, in Bergen County, the American Legion's Zoltan Horvath told Daily Voice.
